Pilar Gil Salgado

In 2018, Pilar graduated in Industrial Technologies Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid where, in addition to specializing in electronics, automation and robotics, she participated in several robot design competitions. After presenting her Final Degree Project on social robots, she decided to do a Master’s Degree in Production Engineering, also at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. This time, her Master’s thesis focused on collaborative robots in industry.

During her final year of studies, she did an internship at Robert Bosch, where she supported other engineers in charge of the design of “custom-made” machines for the production of automotive sensors. When her time as a full-time student came to an end, industrial property crossed her path, and she started working for a major IP firm. During this period, Pilar’s work as a patent technician focused mainly on the drafting and prosecution of patent and utility model applications before the Spanish and European offices, as well as the preparation of patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement studies, among others. Her work was developed both with individuals and with large companies and institutions, especially in the field of electronics and automation, although always adapting to any challenge.

She joined the BALDER team in 2023, where she continues to develop her professional career. Since 2025, she has also been working as a European Patent Attorney.

In addition to Spanish, which is her native language, Pilar is fluent in English, which she has been able to perfect during several stays abroad, and she could defend herself in French, if necessary. In her spare time, you can find Pilar in the mountains, climbing peaks or picking mushrooms if you are lucky. She also loves to experiment in the kitchen and is a tireless reader.
