Pablo Blanch

Pablo not only studied both engineering and physics but followed up with postgraduate courses in nuclear engineering and, after working for four years as a consultant in the area of environment and energy, returned to the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and University of Barcelona, this time to work for another eight years as a professor. And as Pablo loves challenges, instead of making a living the easy way, teaching the same subject year after year, he often switched to a different field: physics, material science, energetic sustainability and optimization, power electronics and control, mechanics… you name it!

Now, not content with becoming a real expert on many areas of technology and science, in 2006 Pablo got into Law, more specifically IP Law, working as a patent consultant for a well-known IP boutique in Barcelona. And he found that he enjoyed it, and that both his knowledge of technology and his pedagogic skills came in handy: after all, the work of a patent attorney is a lot about making sophisticated high-tech inventions understandable for patent examiners and Judges who are not always experts in the field, and about making complex legal concepts understandable for engineers.

Also, his language skills turned out to be useful: Pablo’s mother tongues are Catalan, Spanish and French, and he is also fluent in English. For many years he worked as a free-lance translator between these languages, in parallel with his other activities.

Pablo is based in Barcelona, which means proximity to our Catalan and French clients. Of course, whenever he can, he returns to the island where he grew up: the lovely island of Mallorca.
