Laura Rodríguez

Laura is from Vigo, in the Rías Baixas, a place she will always associate with the sea, good food, and an unhurried way of life.

She studied law in Madrid and, after completing her degree, decided that before settling down she wanted to explore the world. She first headed to Brazil, where she completed a nine-month internship and discovered that adapting to another language and culture is always easier with music and coffee along the way.

She then changed settings completely and moved to Michigan, in the United States, where she lived for two years. There, she continued her training while completing the Master’s program for admission to the legal profession and learned how to survive winters that were considerably less forgiving than those in Galicia.

Homesickness, together with a desire to return to the good weather and Spanish food, brought her back to Spain. There, she decided to revisit an interest that had accompanied her since university: the protection of creations, innovation, and intangible assets, from trademarks to copyright-protected works. This led her to pursue a Master’s in Industrial and Intellectual Property and New Technologies at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

Through this path, she found in BALDER the perfect place to develop her career in an international and dynamic environment. She currently focuses her practice on European Union trademarks and continues to pursue her interest in the strategy and protection of intangible assets at the international level.

In her free time, Laura very much enjoys good food, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family.
