Fang-Yuan Yu

Fang-Yuan, was working as a paralegal initially in trademark department and now with patents, is a valuable member of the BALDER team. Originally from China, her love for Spanish emerged during her university years and was strengthened in Venezuela, where she lived and worked for a year, improving her language skills and exploring the richness of the local culture.

Upon returning to Beijing, Fang-Yuan moved into the engineering and construction sector, where she opened herself to new horizons while cultivating a deep interest in law, even if this only formed a part of her previous responsibilities. In 2015, her curiosity for languages and cultures led her to Spain, where she decided to continue pursuing her academic dreams. She completed a master’s degree in modern Spanish Language and Literature at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Attracted by Spanish life and culture, she decided to settle in this country.

At BALDER, Fang-Yuan combines her legal knowledge with her multicultural experience to protect clients’ intellectual property, focusing especially on patent management. She speaks Mandarin, English and Spanish, enabling her to collaborate effectively in an international environment.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, sports and traveling, always looking for new cultures and learning to broaden her world view.
